Born in Hamburg but raised between New York City and Santiago de Chile, Vincent Marlice’s background is as varied as his experience as a musician. Starting at a very young age, he began with the classical guitar where he later switched to electric guitar while playing in various punk bands. During this time he began to explore his abilities as a vocalist. As his vocal abilities and musicianship grew, he began to desire something to balance the high energy scene that is punk music. Deciding that folk/jazz music was the “Yin” to his punk music “Yang”, he joined a friend and formed a duo named Soro & Oyarzun. Together they recorded 2 albums which featured such notable collaborations as Capital Cities’ trumpet player Spencer Ludwig. While performing and writing for his folk/jazz project, he also played lead guitar in the electro pop band Mecanico which played notable festivals such as Lollapalooza, Mysterland, and Primavera Fauna. During their multiple tours, they supported Chromeo, Bag Raiders, and Miami Horror amongst others.

But the same force inside of him called again, and this time he felt a strong desire to apply all of these varied experiences into one focused musical effort. Upon moving to Berlin, he became entranced by the hypnotic rhythms of the Berlin clubbing scene, but also excited by the possibility of combining his wide depth of musical abilities to the techno scene to make something new. Still in Berlin, Vincent Marlice has begun to churn out new tracks that combine the clubbing nature of house rhythms with his vocals and instrumental abilities to truly make something special.
