A festival that is an authentic celebration

The 2018 edition of Sónar has been marked by the 25th anniversary, in which many shows and performances by top artists have been premiered, some performing for the first time at the festival and some of them presenting exclusive or specially created shows for the festival. A total of 150 musical performances spread over 10 stages (6 in Sónar by Day and 4 in Sónar by Night) that have made this edition one of the richest, most varied and vibrant in the history of Sónar.

In addition to the concerts and performances during the three days of the festival, it should be noted that this year Sónar has presented the exhibition "NO Flyers NO Posters", on the 25th anniversary of Sónar, at the Centre d'Art Tecla Sala de L’Hospitalet (open until 23 June); the installation "Chiasm" by Edwin Van der Heide at Barcelona City Hall; the concert of the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya performing "In C" by Terry Riley at L'Auditori; and, of course, the closing concert of the festival this Sunday by Alva Noto and Ryuichi Sakamoto at the Teatre Grec.

Sónar+D grows qualitatively and quantitatively

Sónar+D, Sónar's creativity and technology congress, has nearly 6,000 registered professionals from 61 countries, 10% more than the number of participants the previous year. The 27 scheduled conferences were attended by almost 4,000 people. The workshops, 21 in total, with an occupation of 100%, have brought together 525 people and the interactions managed by the app of the congress have exceeded 160,000.
