REVOLT! CHRISTMAS GATHERING

On Christmas Day, Revolt! strikes back with a special party at Owl Athens starting early from 10pm with projection, food and drinks while Janet Davis plays her slow jams at the ground floor. After midnight, we head to the basement where Jaymod from Thessaloniki, a skillful DJ for 24 years and an avid vinyl selector, as well as the well known Revolt! resident DJs, K.atou and Mr. Roussos, take command.

Jaymod‘s genuinely inspired musical style has granted him recognition among the dance community and earned him numerous dj gigs in various venues; dingy illegal warehouses to beach parties, outdoor festivals and clubs, such as the legendary Batofar in Paris and Tresor in Berlin, Reworks festival, Club Division and almost every underground venue in his motherland Greece.

Athens based K.atou is a key player in the Greek house and techno scene. With releases on Lomidhigh, Einmaleins, and Lick my Deck, Katerina's musical taste shows a strong influence of sounds from Chicago, Detroit, and Berlin. From bleepy minimal jams to deep organic house this mix perfectly showcases her manipulation of a wide range of musical genres which makes K.atou the truly unique selector that she is.

Mr. Roussos musical style can’t be labelled under a specific genre, he blends old and new in his unique way resulting in an eclectic mix with the finest selection house and techno has to offer. Hailing from the island of Crete Mr. Roussos was influenced by his father's record collection from his early years. He started collecting vinyl from the age of 14 and immediately got hooked to the blooming sound of early House & Techno. Soon enough he made a strong impression and gained recognition to the local scene. From that point on Dj'ing and record collecting has been his passion and addiction until the present day.

Ανήμερα των Χριστουγέννων, η ομάδα Revolt! διοργανώνει ένα εορταστικό πάρτι στο ανακαινισμένο Owl Athens ξεκινώντας στις 10 το βράδυ με προβολή, φαγητό και ποτό σε slowjams ρυθμούς από την Janet Davis, ενώ μετά τα μεσάνυχτα την σκυτάλη αναλαμβάνουν μέχρι το πρωί στο υπόγειο, ο Jaymod από τη Θεσσαλονίκη, δεινός DJ εδώ και 24 χρόνια και λάτρης του βινυλίου, καθώς και οι καταξιωμένοι Revolt! resident DJs, K.atou και Mr. Roussos.

Ο Jaymod ξεκίνησε να παίζει στις αρχές της δεκαετίας του ’90 και συνεχίζει το έργο του ακάθεκτος τα τελευταία 24 χρόνια σε Ελλάδα και εξωτερικό, έχοντας ήδη παίξει από mobile parties και beachbars, μέχρι μερικά από τα σημαντικότερα φεστιβάλ ηλεκτρονικής μουσικής της χώρας και με διεθνείς εμφανίσεις σε club όπως το Batofar στο Παρίσι και το θρυλικό Tresor στο Βερολίνο.

Η K.atou κατάφερενα ξεχωρίσει σε παγκόσμιο επίπεδο με το πάθος της για τη μουσική αλλά και με τα house «διαμάντια» της συλλογής της από το Σικάγο και το Ντιτρόιτ. Έχει πραγματοποιήσει εμφανίσεις σε ΗΠΑ, Ρωσία και Ευρώπη, σε αμέτρητα after-hours πάρτι του Detroit Electronic Music Festival, αλλά και σε φεστιβάλ όπως το Glastonbury και το Rizzla event, αλλά και σε διάσημα club όπως το Club Der Visionaere και το Circoloco.

Ο Mr. Roussos άρχισε να συλλέγει δίσκους στην ηλικία των 14 επηρεασμένος από την soul, funk, disco και new wave συλλογή του πατέρα του, ενώ στη συνέχεια ανακάλυψε και εθίστηκε στον ήχο του Σικάγο και Ντιτρόιτ. Ασταμάτητος συλλέκτης δίσκων της house και techno, ο Mr. Roussos έχει κερδίσει τη φήμη ως ένα από τα βασικά στοιχεία της ελληνικής χορευτικής μουσικής σκηνής. Μετά από πολλά πάρτι και αμέτρητες νύχτες ηδονισμού της 20-ετούς καριέρας του ως DJ, εξακολουθεί να παραμένει προσηλωμένος στο μόνο πράγμα που τον κρατά: το πάθος για τη μουσική.
